Sid Yoga’s 200 Hour Teacher Training Program is an empowering process for those looking to elevate in any aspect of life. Whether you a current yoga teacher looking to master your skills, a yoga student seeking to delve deeper in your practice, or brand new to the practice of yoga, this training is for YOU! This program consists of seven weekends which take you on an inward journey to discover where you hold yourself back, and where you can break through into living the life of your dreams.

During this program you will experience:

Practice self study methods
Voice coaching
Your power and authenticity
the philosophy of yoga
the foundations of assisting/adjusting
an understanding of the anatomy of yoga postures and movement of the body
Yoga methodology and Sequencing
How to teach to all levels
How to teach Sid Yoga’s “Empowerment & Beyond” Sequence
Receive feedback throughout the program and grow.
Dates: This 200 Hour Registered Yoga School experience extends over the course of 7 weekends beginning on March 31st and continuing until July 30th.

For those traveling:

All training hours are held at Sid Yoga Center, in Towson, MD. Those participating in the training from out of the area are responsible to scheduling own flight and places to stay during training hours. All hours are required to attend. Sid Yoga will assist you in your travels by making local recommendations for your needs during your stay in Towson/Baltimore area. Trainees may bring their own food for lunch and dinner breaks. There are several health food stores and various places to eat in short walking distance from the studio.

The lot on side of Cafe Troia [Italian Restaurant] building which is the same building we are in and street parking is also available.

Eateries & groceries
There are a number of restaurants and food options near 4 Warriors, right in the heart of Towson’s city. Zias Cafe, San Sushi Too/Thai One On, 7 West Bistro Grille, The Health Concern and Indian Cuisine are within walking distance and are highly recommended. Traders Joes and Starbucks are also within walking distance. Towson has a Fresh Market (comparable to Whole Foods) and is only a 1/2 mile away. Atwater’s cafe and MOM’s organic market are about a 5 minute drive. A full operating grocery store, Safeway, is within 3/4 mile.
*Please plan your eating in advance. If going out to a restaurant, time is limited. We recommend ordering in advance.

Weather & clothing
Please review the weather forecast before attending your session to know what to pack and wear. All training hours will be indoors. During program, plan to wear sportswear acceptable for practicing yoga (wicking material) and bring layers to cover up during seated discussion or partner work. There will be 2 yoga asana practices throughout the day, so we recommend bringing at least two changes of yoga clothes.

Accommodations
The Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel and The Towson University Marriott Conference Hotel are two great nearby lodging options. Other affordable options in Towson are Comfort Inn and Best Western. Both are located within a 1/2 mile of the studio. The Holiday Inn in Timonium is 5 miles away (estimated travel time is 10 minutes). Embassy suites in Hunt Valley is a 12 minute drive. Sid Yoga does not have a group rate set up at a specific hotel, we find that our participants tend to prefer to make their own arrangements. At your request and consent, we will inform you of other out-of-town participants with whom you can contact and discuss sharing rooms.

  • Experience the depth and versatility of practicing yoga
  • Experience a translation of the timeless teachings into a current classroom experience

  • Receive feedback throughout the program

Kirtan luminary Krishna Das, legendary yogi Dharma Mittra, spiritual troubadour Trevor Hall, the larger than life MC YOGI, and the NAHI WARRIORS are slated to headline the first annual Lovelight yoga and arts festival on August 18-20 at Picturesque Camp Ramblewood, in Darlington MD.

The Lovelight Festival is a three-day Transformational gathering that’s packed full of yoga classes, Kirtan, workshops and musical performances; as well as installations, drumming, flow arts, and wholesome food. It celebrates the evolution of yoga culture—from its introduction in the 60’s counterculture, to modern yoga studio and transformational cultures.

The Lovelight Festival is shanti and groovy and offers something for everyone, whether you are looking to deepen your practice, enjoy great music and bliss out, or just want to learn more about the yoga lifestyle:

• Scenic Camp Ramblewood is the ideal sylvan location for a yoga fest, having a variety of indoor and outdoor venues including a large concert hall, an indoor outdoor pavilion for classes and music, an outdoor amphitheater, an Olympic-sized pool, a rustic barn converted to performance space, a spring-fed lake, a sweat lodge and plenty of space for camp sites. There are 400 new beds, in dorm style cottages, for on-site guests and glamping or car camping are available on request.

Our program is a Yoga Alliance 200hr Registered Yoga School.

Phase II curriculum focus is on voice coaching, class sequencing, methodology, principles of teaching, business of yoga, establishing your power and authenticity as a teacher, and how to teach to all levels. During this week you will have several opportunities to teach live to your peers and program leaders, while receiving feedback full in growth. After completing Phase II, you will be ready to lead others and teach yoga to various levels.

Students will immerse more deeply into assisting techniques, and apply practical anatomy methods into the class room by understanding the differences within the body and how it relates to yoga. Philosophy will be discussed related to ancient yoga texts, and how these philosophical understandings can translate into classroom yoga teaching. The sequence training will be completed with mastering how to teach an inspiring all-levels class. As the theme of our trainings is “Live it to Give it”, we will use methods of Matrika yoga to recognize the reflections we carry, and empower ourselves to lead the change we wish to see.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION

Our program is a Yoga Alliance 200hr Registered Yoga School.

Each week of training consists of 100 hours including contact hours and assignments to complete after the program. Therefore, to complete our RYS 200 Hour Teacher Training Program, the trainee is to attend Phase I and Phase II. In order to attend Phase II, Phase I training must have been completed. However, trainees are able to attend Phase 1 only.
